Introduction of Publication Fees to Enhance Quality and Accessibility

In our ongoing effort to improve the quality and accessibility of AVITEC Journal, we are implementing a new policy that requires a publication fee for each accepted article. This change will help us cover the costs associated with high-quality peer review, editorial services, and the maintenance of our open access platform.

Details of the New Policy:
- Publication Fee Amount per accepted article: IDR 450,000 or US$ 30 for authors from outside Indonesia
- Effective Date: All manuscripts submitted on or after January 1, 2025

The introduction of this fee will ensure that we can continue to provide a rigorous peer review process and high-quality editorial support, while also making our content freely accessible to researchers and the public worldwide.

How to Pay the Publication Fee:
- Submit your manuscript through the AVITEC Journal online submission system.
- Upon acceptance, you will receive an invoice for the publication fee.
- Payment instructions and options will be provided in the invoice.
- The publication process will proceed once the fee is received.

Waivers for High-Quality Submissions

We are pleased to offer a waiver of this fee for submissions (free of charge) that meet our criteria for exceptional quality and adhere strictly to our manuscript template.

Waiver Eligibility:
- Articles that are written according to the detailed guidelines in our template.
- Submissions that demonstrate exceptional quality in research, methodology, and presentation of the results.

We encourage authors to carefully follow our template guidelines to be considered for a fee waiver. Our aim is to support researchers in publishing their high-quality work while maintaining rigorous academic standards.

How to Apply for the Waiver:
- Download the AVITEC Journal template from our website.
- Prepare your manuscript according to the detailed guidelines in the template.
- Submit your formatted manuscript through online submission system.
- Indicate your interest in the fee waiver in the cover letter.

The editorial team will review the manuscript for adherence to the template and overall quality. If eligible, the publication fee will be waived.

Fast-Track Service for Manuscript Review

As part of our regular review process, reviewers are given a two-week period to evaluate each article. However, during periods closer to the publication deadline, the review process may take longer due to workload or other commitments. To address this, we offer a Fast-Track Service for authors who need expedited processing.

Fast-Track Benefits:
1. Faster Review Process – Reviewers will dedicate extra time and complete the review within a maximum of one week, allowing you to revise your manuscript promptly.
2. Editorial Assistance – Our editors will ensure that minor mismatches with the journal template are revised directly by the editorial team.

Important Notes:
- After requesting the fast-track service, we will seek editors and reviewers who can accommodate your request. If none are available, we will not be able to proceed with fast-tracking your manuscript.
- The fast-track service does not compromise the quality of the article. Reviewers will conduct their evaluations with the same level of rigor as the standard process.
- If your article is rejected, it will not be published in this journal. You may revise and resubmit based on the feedback received.

Fast-Track Fee:
- US$ 40 or IDR 600,000 (if accepted).
- You must pay the issued invoice within the specified timeframe. Failure to do so will result in all authors and their affiliations being barred from submitting to our journal for the next two issues.

To check the availability of the fast-track service, please contact us at avitec@itda.ac.id before submission.

Article Withdrawal Policy and Restrictions for Authors and Their Affiliations

1. Article Withdrawal by Authors

  • As long as an article remains in the "Awaiting Assignment" status, authors are allowed to withdraw their submission without any restrictions.
  • However, once an article enters the "In Review" stage, withdrawing the submission will result in a temporary restriction. All authors involved, along with their affiliated institutions, will be prohibited from participating in the journal’s manuscript circulation for the next two issues. This includes submitting new articles as authors, editing articles as editors, or reviewing manuscripts as reviewers.

2. Failure to Fulfill Obligations
The above restriction also applies in the following cases:

  • The author fails to complete the required payment by the specified deadline.
  • The author does not submit the required revision within the given revision deadline.

3. Exception

  • The restriction does not apply if the article is rejected based on reviewer considerations.

4. Appeal for Lifting the Restriction

  • The restriction may be lifted if the author submits a formal request to avitec@itda.ac.id and compensates for the costs incurred during the process.
