Study Perbandingan Evaluasi Performa Simulasi CFD Open-Source dan Komersial pada Airfoil NACA 0012

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan mengevaluasi dan membandingkan pendekatan numerik dua perangkat lunak Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), yaitu ANSYS Fluent dan OpenFOAM, dalam memprediksi karakteristik aerodinamika airfoil NACA 0012 pada aliran inkompresibel. Simulasi dilakukan secara steady-state dengan kondisi batas yang diseragamkan, termasuk penggunaan vektor kecepatan pada inlet untuk menjaga konsistensi perbandingan, pada variasi sudut serang 0°, 10°, dan 15°. Parameter utama yang dianalisis meliputi koefisien gaya angkat (Cl) dan koefisien gaya hambat (Cd), yang kemudian dibandingkan dengan data eksperimen Ladson serta referensi numerik tervalidasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kedua platform mampu mereproduksi tren aerodinamis utama sesuai teori klasik airfoil, yakni peningkatan linear Cl pada sudut serang rendah hingga menengah dan kenaikan non-linear Cd pada sudut serang lebih tinggi. Prediksi Cl menunjukkan deviasi relatif kecil terhadap referensi, sedangkan Cd lebih sensitif terhadap konfigurasi numerik seperti model turbulensi dan resolusi mesh. Secara keseluruhan, studi ini memberikan gambaran komparatif yang dapat menjadi dasar pertimbangan metodologis dalam analisis airfoil 2D.
